Color postcard of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway sent to Ruth Pratt from her sister, Mabel. The postcard was cancelled on Mar 13 1912, 4:30 PM, Indianapolis, IND. A one cent postage stamp is affixed to the upper right corner of the back side. Front of postcard is a watercolor-like depiction of the speedway. Several cars are going around the track. The grand stands and boxes are at the far end of the track. There are quite a few small buildings on the infield, across from the grand stands. Surrounding landscape is rural. Handwritten message says: "The pictures of you at the piana [sic] were very good. Did you have them taken while Mamma was here? Be a good girl. Your sister, Mabel." |
