3 Letters 1916 Letter from Major Harold W. Hanley to his son, Warren Hanley, regarding life in the remote mining town of Camp Bird in the mountains of Colorado. The author recounts two incidents. The first is of a young man, Wilfred Noel, attempting to ski and snowshoe to town to cash his paycheck and getting lost along the way. The second incident is about a man who became ill with a high fever and had to be treated using "heroic measures". 1938 A one-page letter, typewritten, from Herbert Hoover to Warren T. Hanley. It is dated 12/28/1938. The letter is a response to a letter sent by Mr. Hanley on 12/24/1938. Hoover discusses the fact that people are tired of politics after an election. 1944 A one-page letter, from Warren T. Hanley to his son, Clair, on the occasion of his marriage to Helen Torgeson. The father offers marriage advice to his son. |
