Description Non-regulation Cavalry Officer's Saber; Slightly curved single edged blade with two fullers, etched with floral sprays, military trophies, and "U.S.", back of blade engraved "Manuf[ ] de Klingenthal Coul[aux] & Cie" brass hilt consisting of two branches and knuckle bow flowing from oval guard to pommel heavily decorated with floral sprays, pommel cap cast with eagle, back of pommel decorated with shield and floral sprays, shagreen wrapped grip with twisted wire, inside of guard around grip decorated with floral design. top of inside guard decorated with floral spray and rosettes. Steel scabbard (.764a) with two rings and drag.
