Description Uniform Overcoat: single breasted, six button front, greenish-gray wool and cotton twill cloth with no facings or pipings, lighter weight green-gray wool and cotton cloth lining in the body, brown cotton sheeting with white and red patterns lining sleeves, no insignia or sleeve braid, and small black rubber buttons. Each button has a backmark which reads, "N R. CO. / P=T." With bullet hole on left side of chest. The overcat is attached to a cape (.65). Both the overcoat and cape are associated with a shell jacket (.65b).

Provenance John Quincy Marr of the "Warrenton Rifles" wore this cape, overcoat (.65a), and shell jacket (.65b) as part of his Confederate uniform. He was wearing this coat when he was killed at the Battle of Fairfax Court House in 1861; bullet holes are visible on the left side.
