Booth was born and raised in Bel Air; the Hanna family owned/operated a hotel in Bel Air. An 1880 newspaper article quotes "the landlord of the old hotel in Bel Air,", and mentions that Booth "stayed there several weeks in 1861," where he played with the landlord's children on the front lawn.|
