Description The surgical kit comes in a walnut case with a brass nameplate on top of it. "R. G. Rothrock" is scratched on the nameplate. The interior is lined with brown velvet. A yellow label inside reads, "MANUFACTURED BY / HENRY SHIVELY / AT THE / Established Manufactory / Removed to No. 64 S. 8th St. / Below Chesnut / Philad'a." The contents of the case are as fellows: tenacula (a), two amputation knives (b, c), head saw (h), raspitory handle (j), two raspitory saw bits (k, l), short bristle brush (m), tourniquet (n), bone file (d), tongue depressor (f), artery probe (o), tenon saw (e), and metacarpal saw (i).
