Description The decorative shield contains the Arkansas State Shield. The shield consists of a half-round tin cut out with irregular edges. The Arkansas State Shield is painted with oil and enamel paints. An eagle with two allegorical figures of peace holds the Arkansas Shield. One of the peace figures is encircled by stars and the other is winged. A banner in the eagle's beak reads, "Pegnant Populi."

Provenance This Arkansas State Shield was used in the Arkansas Room (3rd Floor Landing) of the Confederate Museum when it resided in the White House of the Confederacy.
