Description The campaign desk is made of wood with a hinged front and a slotted interior. Slots are arranged with one long narrow slot along bottom, a large rectangular slot in the center, and ten small square slots arranged along the sides and top of the large center slot. A square wooden block is attached to each of the two ends; cut frayed ends of rope protrude from center sides of each of these blocks, apparently where rope handles formerly attached. Remnants of a printed paper label are adhered to the interior right side of the hinged front.

Provenance This campaign desk was used in the Quartermaster's Dept. [Quartermaster Department] of the Confederacy at their building at 9th and Broad Streets in Richmond, Virginia.
