This is the base to a map stand, or screen, made of various wartime relics.
Described on label attached to stand as, "Mapstand made of: 1 U.S. 1842 .69-cal. musket; 1 U.S. 1863 .58-cal. musket; 2 Civil War bayonets; 1 Civil War sabre (possibly Confed.); 2 10-lb. Parrott shells."
