Description The table is unassembled and has six remaining pieces (probably pieces are missing). The top consists of two wood rectangular panels (.99a-.99c), with one panel broken into two pieces. (.99d-f) are three miscellaneous cross pieces; (.99d) has two metal hinges; (.99e) has screw holes, broken leather straps, and one rounded edge; and (.99f) has screw holes and broken leather straps but also has two straight edges.

Provenance "The table was at the headquarters table of Maj. Gen. Gustavus W. Smith. He and his staff officers used it as a 'mess table' throughout the war. Col. Robert F. Morris was the Chief Engineer of Gustavus' staff. At the end of the war, Morris "secured" the table and preserved it as a memento." Morris was Col. of the 179th Infantry (City of Richmond) of 4th Division, 2nd Brigade of Virginia State Militia from 1861-1864.
