Description The medal is an yellow metal, believed gold, and is oval-shaped and engraved. The brown leather case (.10b) has a red silk liner, marked in gold lettering, "Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co. - Broadway & Locust Street - ST. LOUIS, MO." The medal is engraved on the obverse: "Certificate of Honorary Membership in St. Louis Grays Company C - Presented to his Excellency Sterling Price Governor State of Missouri April 5th 1854" in longhand script. On the reverse, it is engraved, "St L G. / C" in block lettering, surmounted by an eagle and with floral chasing around edge.
