The half-case (a) is black leather, and is marked with a gold stamp with the manufacturer's name: "J. Roger's & Sons, Sheffield, England". White square paper label with "21" affixed to case immediately above gold imprint. Two asterisks are on the reverse side of the blade from the manufacturer's name.
