Description Haversack of black patent leather with three pockets, red leather lining on flap, leather strap closure on outer flap (buckle missing), brass latch closure on interior pocket; brown leather shoulder strap with brass buckle. Contents of the haversack as follows:
A - blue cloth cap with red twill trim;
B - steel button hook with black wooden handle;
C-D - two bone-handled tooth brushes;
E - wooden handled pen;
F - remnants of shoe strings, with metal aiglets;
G - wooden comb;
H - small round paper box with lid printed, "Meade & Baker / Apothecaries / Richmond, / VA.", and handwritten at the top, "19.48", containing a few brownish pellets of morphine;
I - pointed length of rough wood.
