Description Model 1860 U. S. Light Cavalry Saber: single-edged, curved blade with rounded back and rudimentary false edge and two fullers; ricasso stamped "US/ GGS / 1860", brass hilt with a knuckle bow and two branches flowing from an oval guard and terminating at the pommel; wood grip with swell in the center covered in leather and wound in twisted brass wire. Metal scabbard (.789a) with two suspension rings and large drag.
