Description Mahogany dissecting kit consisting of wooden case (.993) lined in blue velvet with instruments. A label reads: "GEO. TIEMANN & CO. Manufacturers of SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS & every descriptions of CUTLERY No. 67 Chatman St. NEW YORK". A label on the bottom of the case described the instruments in the set. The contents of the lid are: blowpipe (a); ivory handle with thin metal probe on end (b). The base contains a set of hooks (c); tenaculum with a steel file handle (d); scalpel with steel file handle (g); 3 scalpels (e, f, h); and cartilage knife (or chisel) (i).
