|Provenance||Flag finial from the staff of a flag presented to Captain Arnold Elzey by the Ladies of Baltimore, when Elzey's company left to join the Confederate army. When Capt. Elzey was wounded, he was taken to the house of Capt. J. T. Alexander in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, where his wife was a refugee, at which time Elzey presented the finial to Alexander.|
