Event Battle of Drewry's Bluff / Fort Darling
Provenance 1st Lieutenant Philip Samuel, Co. E, 30th Virginia Infantry, used this Colt pocket revolver. The 30th served in Corse's Brigade, Pickett's Division, Longstreet's Corps, Army of Northern Virginia. Samuel enlisted in Co. E at Flippo's Store on May 9, 1861 as a lieutenant. He was severely wounded in the right arm at Drewry's Bluff on May 16, 1864. The wound disable him from further field service so Samuel was assigned to the Invalid Corps in November 1864. Samuel was paroled at Ashland, Virginia on May 8, 1865
