Description Model 1832 U. S. General and Staff Officer's Sword: straight, double-edged blade with single fuller and etched with floral sprays, military trophies and eagle, "N.P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield" on reverse; gilded brass hilt composed of two-piece heart shaped guard and straight quillons, round knuckle bow flattened in the center and decorated with a recessed beaded design, globular pommel with leaf design at base; grips of ribbed silver. With metal scabbard (.90c) with two suspension rings and drag.
