The gold and enamel badge consists of two parts - bar pin and pendant. The bar pin is shaped more or less like a rectangle with heavy ornamental scallops across the top and ends. "WINNIE DAVIS" is printed in blue enamel letters in the center of the bar. An oval-shaped pendant suspends from the bar pin. A Revolutionary War soldier holding a musket image is in the center of the pendant. His hat is black and white enamel; his coat is blue enamel; his breeches are yellow enamel; and his boots are black enamel. Rays enamate from behind the soldier to the outer trim. The pendant has a raised outer edge with "CONTINENTAL GUARDS" printed in blue enamel across the top. The bottom of the pendant has green palm or tobacco leaves framing it. A leaf image with seven points is suspended from the bottom of the pendant and contains "76" printed in blue. The back of the badge rests against the backing of the frame and is therefore, not visible. This badge is part of a large framed collection (0985.7.135); the rest of the collection is enumerated separately (0985.7.135a- 0985.7.135h, 0985.7.135j-0985.7.135hh). The badge is located in the upper right quadrant of the frame.
