Ames / Cutler / Springfield / 1836"; brass half-basket hilt consisting of two branches and knuckle bow and small oval branch forming a counter guard on the reverse side, quillon terminates in a disc stamped "JM" and "HKC / ORD"; wood grips covered with leather and wound with wire, brass ferrule and backstrap terminating in a stylized bird's head pommel. No scabbard.|
