Description Silver pin with a crescent moon and five pointed star. Engraved on the moon: "New Orleans"; on the star "La". The back is a simple hasp closure. The pin is attached to a red silk ribbon on which is printed its history.

Provenance A pin made from a silver half dollar by a Louisiana soldier during the war. Possibly made in New Orleans by a Confederate POW (similar items in private/other collections with this history).
