Description This massive carved oak arm chair has block feet, zig-zag carvings on the arms and uprights, inlaid two-tone lone star on the seat, two flat scroll slats, and two scalloped half-rounds on the back. The brass memorial plaque is no longer attached. The chair is on castors.

Provenance This chair was commissioned as a memorial to Private L. A. Daffan, Co. G, 4th Texas Infantry, Division Superintendent. The chair was displayed in the Texas Room of the Confederate Museum to commemorate this man's service to the C.S.A. Made under the direction of Allen Wilson, foreman of the Texas penitentiary cabinet shop.
