Description The brass badge consists of three parts - bar pin, pendant, and charm. The bar pin is shaped to be an eagle with outspread wings clutching a flag by its staff. The flag swirls slightly and then drapes over the other end of the staff. The flag is representative of a Second National pattern with the St. Andrew's cross in the upper left corner. A shield-shaped charm suspends from a connecting bar at the bottom of the draped flag. The charm has a raised edge arounds its perimeter and through its middle. "1861" is printed in raised digits on the top portion while "1865" is printed in raised digits on the bottom portion. A connecting loop on the bottom of the charm links its to a connecting loop at the top of the pendant. The center of the pendant contains two concentric discs with sunburst rays emanating from them. The center disc contains a relief image of the Virginia State Seal and is adhered to the second disc. The second disc has a raised edge and contains the following in raised letters, "G. E. PICKETT CAMP / U. C. V." Four of the rays emanate is the shape of a St. Andrew's cross with raised edge trim and 1.5 stars each. Bluish-gray tarnish/stain is on the larger concentric disc from where the center one is adhered to it. The back of the badge rests against the backing of the frame and is therefore, not visible. This badge is part of a large framed collection (0985.7.135); the rest of the collection is enumerated separately (0985.7.135a- 0985.7.135o, 0985.7.135q-0985.7.135hh).
