Description Pattern 1822 British Foot Officer's sword: slightly curved, single-edged steel blade etched CONNOR / MANASSAS, and palmetto tree, ricasso etched with six-pointed star and inset brass "PROVED" disc, reverse ricasso "S. Isaac / Campbell & Co. / 71 / Jerm[yn St] / London; steel hilt with crown over hunting horn devise filed down to create a crude palmetto tree; grip covered with remnants of shagreen, wound with twisted wire. Metal scabbard (.154a).
