"Confederate Battle Flag captured by Private Isaac Thomas, Co. G, Co. C 20th New York State Militia, on Sept. 17, 1862 at the Battle of Sharpsburg. He shot the rebel color bearer and ran forward and brought off the colors. Signed, Theodore B. Yates, Lt. Col.
