Provenance The lace collar is one of many tatted collars, made and sold in Baltimore, Maryland for the benefit of the Richmond Hospital. This one is reportedly made by a Southern lady, who silently came and went from the city with quite a handsome sum, of which it is said was used by the hospitals in Richmond, Virginia. The collar was preserved by Mrs. Catherine Cameron.
