Made Exalissa Curinder Caruthers, Silver Run, AL, 1865
Provenance A quilt block made by Exalissa C. Caruthers of Silver Run, Alabama, during the Civil War. She made/finished it in 1865, when she was about 23 years old. It was quilted with homemade thread spun by the maker/donor.
