Description German officers light cavalry saber: single edged curve blade with one broad fuller, remains of bluing engraved with flower sprays and military trophies, decorations gilded, "A.& F.C. Schimmelbusch" on obverse, "a Solingen" on reverse; steel hilt, two branches and knuckle bow, flowing into stylized birds head pommel with backstrap; langets project forward over blade and onto grip. quillon terminates in disk. Metal scabbard (.728a) with two suspension rings and large drag.
