|Description||Trouser braid consisting of a length of woven gold threads with frayed edges.|
|Owned||Thomas J. Jackson [Stonewall Jackson]; Jane Corbin [Janie]|
Said to be a hatband worn by Lt. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson during the Battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862. Jackson gave it to Jane Corbin, daughter of the "Moss Neck" household in 1863. Jackson used "Moss Neck" as a base for planning his spring campaign. Janie died of scarlet fever shortly after Jackson gave her the hatband. The donor was the son of Mrs. Roberts Cary Corbin Kinsolving, remarried name of the original Mrs. Corbin, and step-brother to Jane.
[**NOTE**The hatband that was intended to be sent to the MOC by the donor's testators was confused with this trouser braid, and the hatband was never sent.]
