Battle of Fort Sumter
Piece of the South Carolina state flag that flew over Fort Moultrie during the bombardment of Fort Sumter, 1861.
The very first "official" SC state flag flew over The Customs House in Charleston January 31, 1861, but the Ft. Moultrie Flag was the first "official" state banner to be raised in ceremony a few days later.
