Description Confederate Foot Officer's Sword after Model 1850 U.S. Foot Officer's Sword: slightly curved, single-edged blade with single broad unstopped fuller; gilded brass hilt with guard decorated with pierced design of floral sprays and rosettes, knuckle bow pierced for sword knot near pommel which is decorated on forward edge with leaves; wood grip covered with leather wire wrap missing. Leather scabbard (.818a) with brass mounts.

Provenance Lt. Thomas Smith Beverly Tucker used this sword and scabbard during the war. He was wounded in the knee at Fredericksburg in December 1862. The wound left him permanently crippled.
