Child's dress that belonged to a female member of the Gooch family of Louisa County, Virginia. Probably Mary Evelina Toler Gooch (b. 1834), or her sisters, Martha "Mattie" F. Gooch Vaughan (b. 1837) or Elizabeth "Bettie" Pollard Gooch (b. 1839); or possibly Mary's daughter, Susie Lightfoot Gooch Anderson (Mrs. George K. Anderson) (b. 1860).
Note with dress indicates it was more than 85 years old at time of donation, in 1938.
