Provenance Lt. Gen. A. P. Hill used these field glasses. He was carrying them on April 2, 1865 when he was killed near Boydton Plank Road. One of his aides picked them up and sent them to Mrs. Hill. She sent them to her brother Robert Morgan. Mr. Morgan bequeathed the glasses to his great nephew Mr. Applegate.
