The round pin is made of brass and enamel. The background is black enamel in the center. The center contains two crossed flags on staffs - on the left, a First National pattern in red, white, and blue enamel, and on the right, a Third National pattern flag in red, white and blue enamel. A white enamel ring encircles the flags and black background. Lettering in brass is stenciled around this ring and reads, "* DAUGHTERS * OF * THE * CONFEDERACY * / 1861-65." The back of the pin rests against the backing of the frame and is therefore, not visible. This pin is part of a large framed collection (0985.7.135); the rest of the collection is enumerated separately (0985.7.135a- 0985.7.135ff, 0985.7.135hh).
