Description Model 1850 U.S. Foot Officer's Sword: slightly curved, single-edged blade with two fullers, blade etched with floral sprays and military trophies, eagle and "US", blade stamped "US / ADK / [1860] " "AMES MFG CO / Chicoppe / Mass" leather cushion; gilded brass hilt with guard decorated with pierced design of floral sprays and rosettes, knuckle bow pierced for sword knot near pommel which is decorated on forward edge with floral sprays, pommel cap stamped "ADK" and "GWR"; wood grip covered with shagreen and single strand wire. Leather scabbard (.168a) with brass mounts. remains of leather slings and swivel hooks attached to suspension rings.
