Description U.S. Model 1850 cap pouch: brown leather with double flap, body stamped "CS STORMS / MAKER.NY"; brass finial; two belt loops secured to back with copper rivets. The cap pouch is associated with a brown leather belt (.1017), brass belt buckle (.1017a), and a brown leather cartridge box (.1017b).

Provenance The belt (.1017), belt buckle (.1017a), and cap pouch (.1017c) "Accompanied [the] revolver and cartridge box, given by the State of Virginia to the Governor's Mounted Guard, afterwards Co. I, 4th Virginia Cavalry, in February 1861, and used by me during the four years of the war." Benjamin M. Parham enlisted in May 1861 and was appointed a 2nd Lt. on April 28, 1862.
