Description The badge consists of a stamped brass ornate rectangular bar pin, short length of red satin ribbon, and celluloid with metal rim and back pendant. The bar pin is gold-colored and has "SOUVENIR" in relief on the front. A clasp pin is soldered on the back of the bar. A white paper label printed in blue is adhered to the back of the bar pin and reads, "WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO., / NEWARK, N. J." A plain red satin ribbon hangs from the clasp pin and is attached to the top of the celluloid pendant. The celluloid has a white background with a gold-tone metal rim and back. Three crossed Confederate flags are printed in red, white, and blue in the center. The flags are - in order from left to right - Third National, Army of Northern Virginia, and First National patterns. The manufacturer's name and address, "WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO., / NEWARK, N. J.," is stamped on the metal back of the pendant.
