Captured at Fort Blakely, Alabama, April 1865 by Lt. Col. Victor Vifquain, 97th Illinois Infantry. Currently identified, based upon modern research, as Gen. Samuel French's headquarters flag. Formerly believed captured by Confederate troops and later recaptured at Fort Blakely, Alabama.

This is the AOT HQ flag for a division, issued September 1864.
