An unnamed young girl crocheted, or tatted, this lace collar sometime during 1861.
It is believed that the collar and a related hook were separated, and eventually plated into different State Rooms. The assumption of their belonging together is based upon strong similarities in their histories, and no conflicting provenance. The crochet hook is 0985.13.1427.
