|Provenance||Capt. Joseph H. Winfree owned this Colt Navy revolver. According to donor, when Winfree was killed [July 1864], his riderless horse returned to its late master's home. This partially loaded pistol (as it still was at the time of donation on January 30, 1964), was found at that time in a saddle bag attached to the horse.|
