Object Name Engraving plate

Description Copper plated lead rectangle with reverse lettering. A "5" is in the center flanked by a seated female figures holding the second national pattern flags bearing 5's in the field. The word "DOLLARS" is in block letters at the bottom. A paper label is attached to the reverse and reads, "Piece of plate used for printing five dollar bills at the bureau of engraving and printing at Anderson, S.C." Four fifty cent notes are attached to the back of the plate.
