Flag of the Transvaal (or Zuid Afrikaansche Republiek) . The donor mistakenly believed this flag was used during the American Civil War as well as in the Boer War (aka South African War, aka Anglo-Boer War), which occurred from 1899 to 1902. That would preclude the possibility of this flag having been used in the American Civil War.
