|Provenance||Cuff buttons owned by Alexander H. Stephens, he had them with him in Fort Warren, Boston while imprisoned there in 1865. They were given to his guard, Lt. C.F. Parker. Acc. to C.F. Parker letter (Jan, 20, 1903 - found in accession files - GA), he and Stephens exchanged cuff buttons and pencil when Parker left. In addition Stephens presented Parker with cup, saucer, and spoon (Parker's statement regarding acquisition of these items from Stephens is in object file.)|
