Owned Boulware family
Provenance Jefferson Davis and family owned and used the Gothic Revival style arm chair while in residence at the White House of the Confederacy. The Boulware family purchased the chair at the 1870 Auction. Aubin Lee Boulware and Janie Preston Boulware were the donor's grandparents. They gave the chair to their daughter Janie Preston Boulware Lamb, donor's mother. Janie Preston Boulware Lamb then gave the chair to her son Brockenbrough Lamb, Jr.
