Description Sixth-plate ambrotype; boy standing, full-length; hair parted on side, looking at camera, wearing loose sacque, or tunic, belted at waist with large belt buckle, buttoned up center, braid trimming along neck edge, front closure and hem, giving military effect, dropped shoulders, cuffs, loose trousers, boots or brogans, feet together, left hand holding belt buckle at waist, right forearm leaning against small table with a drape cinched around the table leg giving a double triangle effect, holding billed cap in right hand with a plaid hatband and a plaid square sewn on the top, back drop and immoblizer visible at feet; non-pareil gilt mat, preserver is stamped with foliate scroll motif; case is leather-covered wood embossed with scroll motif around central starburst medallion on both obverse and reverse exterior sectons; obverse [cover] interior section lined in red velvet embossed with paisley furn detail--no longer attached to case; obverse and reverse case sections detached from eachother;
