Doll -

Child female doll is a small porcelain figure; head, torso, and arms are bisque (unglazed), while legs are glazed. Hair is painted blond with black headband. Eyes are painted blue. Cheeks are painted rosy pink. Mouth is painted red. Clothing is white eyelet pantaloons, a red dress, a purple apron, and a brown cape trimmed in blue silk. Shoes are painted purple with small heels. Purple lines are painted on her calves, to represent socks or stockings. Ten articles of clothing (0985.9.165a-l) are also with the doll.

Work box: Black lacquered work box with inlaid mother-of-pearl and colored shells arranged decoratively in the shape of birds and flowers. Rests on four pedestal feet. A brass lockplate is on the front side of the box. (.344a-d) are compartments that can be removed.
