Confederate Foot Officer's Sword modelled after U. S. Model 1850; slightly curved single edged blade with shallow fuller, stamped on reverse ricasso "[Thom]as. Griswold & Co / New Orleans" remains of fabric cushion, gilded brass hilt pierced with floral sprays and rosettes, knuckle bow pierced for sword knot near pommel, forward edge of pommel decorated with floral sprays; brown leather wrapped grip wound with fourteen turns of twisted brass wire. Leather scabbard (.761a) with gilded mounts.
