Piece of rectangular wood, with U-shaped groove cut into it. On one end is written in black ink, "B.56 / From / Arlington". A red, white, and blue ribbon is attached with a pin.

MAQUETTE - Virginia Mourning Her Dead

Pot metal casted maquette patinaed to resemble bronze. It is an allegorical figure of a woman seated and wearing a Phrygian cap with a spear in her left hand and her right foot resting on an artillery piece (.69a). Her head is resting in her right hand. Original spear (.69b) was broken in 1988 and has been replaced by a new spear. The cast is dated: May 15, 1900" and inscribed "Ex-Cadet M Ezekiel Rome"
