Brown, Cor[ner] Main & 5th St[reet]s, Richmond, V[irgini]a - Informs her of the General's [Thomas J. Jackson] death at 3:15 that afternoon. |Archival History||According to the donor's statement on an envelope in the folder with the telegram, he sent this telegram, informing his sister, Mrs. E. H. Brown, of Jackson's death. He also states that this was the first telegram sent out announcing the general's death. The telegram and statement were formerly located in the MC 3 J-516 files. The telegram was placed in a lobby exhibit on Jackson in February 2003.|
