Physical Appearance: March 11, 1865, 3:30 P. M. - General Joseph Eggleston Johnston at Raleigh, [North Carolina], to General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard - Advises that the Federal army is in Fayetteville, that Hardee and Hampton's forces are near on this side, and Bragg's troops are returning to Goldsboro from Kinston. Notes that Bragg, along with Hoke and Hill, fought against the enemy, heavily reinforced from Wilmington. (Signed) J. E. Johnston.
